Features and benefits - The normal repayment period of a home loan is twenty years; however you can choose to pay off the home loan over a shorter period of time to save on your total interest cost.
- You will receive competitive interest rates on your home loan.
- If you are a Selekt cheque account holder, you may receive special discounted interest rates.
- You may preferably pay your instalments by debit order, by post, or personally at your Bank Windhoek branch.
Conditions that apply - To qualify for a home loan you must be permanently employed and have a satisfactory credit record.
- Your monthly instalment may not exceed 30% of your gross monthly income. The Bank will also take your spouse’s salary into account.
- If you qualify for a housing subsidy, you must submit documentary proof of the subsidy to us.
- You are normally required to pay a deposit equal between 10% and 20% of the purchase price. However, 100% home loans may be granted at the Bank’s discretion.
- You can discuss possible rate discounts with the sales manager at your nearest branch.
- A valuator, subject to the Bank’s approval, must be responsible for the valuation of your property.
- We will assist you with organising Life Cover and Property Insurance through our different broker firms for your property.
