Bank Windhoek Celebrates the Automotive Industry

On Friday, 20 October 2023, Schalk van Greunen of Indongo Auto trading as (t/a) Indongo Toyota Okahandja was named the top salesperson in both the New and Used Vehicles categories at the Bank Windhoek Vehicle and Asset Finance (VAF) Selekt Sales Awards ceremony hosted in Windhoek.

Danie Slabbert of Simon Motors t/a Mariental Toyota won second place in the New Vehicles category, while Jaco Nel of Pupkewitz Toyota Windhoek was named the third-best salesperson. The second and third spots in the salesperson Used Vehicles category went to Marius Coetzee of Windhoek Carzone Auto Sales and Fritz Reynecke of Pupkewitz Toyota Windhoek.

The Owner Dealership Award for all Regions categories went to Zimmerman Garage, followed by Redco Motors t/a Gobabis Toyota and Windhoek Carzone Auto Sales.

Asked to provide feedback on the Bank's service, Van Greunen said that he appreciates good service, which makes the process of approval efficient. “Thank you to Bank Windhoek for the excellent service over the years,” he said. Marius Coetzee, the owner of Windhoek Carzone Auto Sales, also echoed Van Greunen’s sentiments and said that he is confident that the used vehicles market is in demand and that positive prospects are on the horizon.

During her keynote address, Bank Windhoek’s Head of Specialist Finance, Saara Shivute, said that Bank Windhoek knows that stock availability challenges were experienced occasionally, be it new or pre-owned vehicles. “However, the silver lining to this is the increase of 15.9% in new vehicle sales during 2022 compared with the number of new vehicles sold in 2021, despite the impact of increased repo rates over the same period,” she said.

Shivute also used the occasion to unveil Bank Windhoek’s annual Vehicle and Asset Finance (VAF) Marketing Campaign. Themed 'Drive your lifestyle', Shivute said the campaign targets existing and new customers, offering market-related motoring deals for new and used vehicles driven by the Bank’s excellent customer service and exciting competition elements.

Shivute thanked the automotive industry for assisting Bank Windhoek to maintain its leadership position in vehicle financing. “We are proud of having partnered with you to help the motoring public find their dream cars. I sincerely hope we will continue to do so well into the future,” she concluded.
