Bank Windhoek retains Most Admired Banking Brand Award

Bank Windhoek has once again been named the #1 Most Admired Namibian Banking Brand in the Brand Africa 100 | Africa’s Best Brands rankings, reaffirming its position as one of Namibia’s most trusted, recognised, and proudly homegrown financial services brands. The Bank was also ranked #2 in Good for Africa and #3 in Sustainability among Namibian brands.

The recognition was announced on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, during the Brand Africa Awards Ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel in Windhoek. The award was received by Bank Windhoek’s Head of Brand Marketing, Otilie Sabatha. This marks the seventh edition of Namibia’s participation in the continent’s most comprehensive brand rankings, and it is the most significant yet.

The latest accolade builds on Bank Windhoek’s consistent recognition by Brand Africa over the years. In 2021, Brand Africa named Bank Windhoek Namibia’s Most Admired Local Financial Services Brand. The Bank received the same recognition again in 2022, before being named the #1 Most Admired Namibian Banking Brand in the 2025 edition of Brand Africa 100 | Africa’s Best Brands. This year’s recognition marks another important milestone in the Bank’s brand journey and reflects the enduring confidence Namibians continue to place in the institution.

Commenting on the recognition, Sabatha said the award reflects the strength of Bank Windhoek’s relationship with the people it serves. “To be recognised once again as Namibia’s most admired banking brand is a powerful affirmation of the trust Namibians place in Bank Windhoek. This award is not only about brand visibility; it reflects the consistency of our service, the relevance of our solutions, and the emotional connection we have built with our customers and communities over many years,” she said.

Sabatha said the recognition also belongs to the Bank’s employees, whose daily commitment continues to shape the Bank’s reputation. “Every interaction, every solution, and every act of service contribute to how our brand is experienced. This recognition encourages us to continue building a trusted, proudly Namibian banking brand that connects people to opportunity and supports the country’s progress,” she said.

Now in its 16th year, Brand Africa 100 | Africa’s Best Brands is the continent’s most comprehensive and credible barometer of brand performance and consumer admiration. The study is aligned with ISO 20252 standards and independently conducted by globally respected

research firms. The 2026 study spans 30 African countries, representing over 85% of Africa’s population and gross domestic product, and is conducted in eight major languages across the continent’s five economic regions. The study is unsponsored and brand-neutral, ensuring no commercial influence. Category listings are drawn from the spontaneous, unaided Top 100 rankings.
