National Ballet School Brings the Magic of Peter Pan to the NTN

The National Ballet School, a cornerstone of Namibia's dance community since the 1980s, is set to enchant audiences with its upcoming production of Peter Pan, running from Wednesday, 11 to Saturday, 14 March 2026 at the National Theatre of Namibia, in Windhoek.

Directed by Zelrine Verdoes, who has led the studio for the past 12 years, the production features an impressive cast of 140 dancers aged between 4 and 19, celebrating the full journey of ballet training from first steps on stage to advanced performance.

Adding international flair to the programme are two acclaimed guest artists: Chloe Blair, soloist with Joburg Ballet, and Jordan Roelfze, soloist with Cape Town City Ballet. The pair will present a special pas de deux and solo performances from the classical ballet Le Corsaire, offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience world-class artistry on a Namibian stage.

The production is made possible through the generous support of Bank Windhoek, whose sponsorship has enabled refreshed stage décor and the hosting of international guest artists. Costumes will blend classical and romantic ballet traditions with a contemporary twist, complementing the updated stage design and breathing new life into this timeless story.

“At Bank Windhoek, we believe that investing in the arts is an investment in our people and our future. Supporting the National Ballet School's Peter Pan production reflects our ongoing commitment to nurturing local talent, enriching Namibia's cultural landscape, and creating opportunities for young performers to shine on both national and international stages," said Bank Windhoek's Head of Strategic Partnerships and Corporate Social Responsibility, Bronwyn Moody.

Peter Pan is a story of imagination, courage, and the joy of growing up, values that are beautifully embodied by the dancers, from the youngest performers to the most advanced students. The production promises a magical theatrical experience for families, ballet lovers, and the broader arts community alike.
