The third Bank Windhoek Fistball League round set for the weekend

The third Bank Windhoek Fistball League match day will take place this coming Saturday at the Cohen Fistball Club in Windhoek. With a record of 18 registered teams, this league round is anticipated to be competitive and one of the best in the history of the Bank Windhoek Fistball League. The Windhoek-based Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW 1) has registered 12 teams, while the Swakopmund Fistball Club (SFC) has sent three teams to compete with the dominant Cohen Fistball Clubs (CFC).

In the National A League, CFC 1 tops the table with 18 points after two league rounds. After the unexpected defeat in the Indoor Championship Final against SFC 1, CFC 1 will do everything to extend their lead in the field league. Second-placed SKW 1 has 13 points, followed by the reserve from CFC and SFC 1, who share third place with the same number of points. It remains to be seen whether the young SFC team can also pull off the next coup playing away from home. In a best-out-of-five set, the four teams play their matches against each other.

In the National B League, four SKW teams play against the guests from Swakopmund, represented by two teams. SFC 2, which has won all their previous six games, are the first pursuers on the experienced SKW 4 team, who are leading the table with seven points. This league round could already be ground-breaking for the playoff qualification because only the top three teams can still play for the championship. The other teams then play for a single semi-final ticket.

In the Under 18 league, three teams from SKW will meet a team from the guests' SFC. SKW A leads the table with nine points, closely followed by SFC A, two points behind in second place.

With four teams from SKW, the Under 14 category plays a tournament for the crown. SKW C celebrated at the first tournament in March.

In the meantime, the National team players had completed the fifth and last training camp in Windhoek. The team will face the World Fistball Champion Germany in five weeks’ time in the opening encounter of the 16th Fistball World Championships in the Rhein-Neckar Stadium, Mannheim, Germany.
